Watermans books berths, liaises with the port authority for your vessel movements, and clears yachts in and out with Border Force. Your visit is planned before the yacht sails: the tide, the bridge lift and the pilot’s boarding time are taken together. A director attends on the quay at arrival and at departure.
The port call fee is set by length overall, from GBP 950 for a yacht of up to 24 metres. A written estimate is issued the same working day. Supplier costs pass through at the supplier’s figure, with each invoice attached.
The Foreland Marine network is available at a moment’s notice for any request the captain makes while the yacht is in port. An engineer, a surveyor, the maker’s service agent or a slot at one of ten shipyards between Falmouth and the Solent is arranged through it, as the technical page sets out. Overseas agents and managers may instruct Watermans as United Kingdom correspondent. Correspondence then runs through them, and Watermans stands down when the yacht sails.

The 57th show runs from 18 to 27 September, with more than 500 craft on show and over 250 of them afloat in the show marina.
